I have worked at BBN Technologies since 1983 on a variety of projects concerned with performance analysis of distributed systems. I am currently studying the interaction between distributed applications and computer networks. I am an architect of the QuO (Quality Objects) framework, which handles Quality of Service (QoS) issues at the distributed objects level (CORBA) . QuO allows distributed applications to adapt to extreme runtime variation in its environment. QuO has also been integrated with the Cougaar agent middleware.

My past projects include: principle investigator for the bandwidth management part of QuO; principle investigator for knowledge-based tools for troubleshooting performance problems in computer networks, including the BBN SpyGlass protocol analysis environment and the ANT network path-modeling environment; and performance analyst for the ARPANET where I developed techniques that stabilized load sensitive routing.
